(sphere) creates first immersive VR NFTs
(sphere) is excited to announce that we are now offering high resolution, fully immersive VR moments in time captured with the (sphere) Pro1 as limited edition NFTs on Mintable. These VR experiences (many never seen) were filmed all over the world with the (sphere) Pro1, the world’s first single-lens 360° full-spherical image capture solution. These are not your ordinary animated GIFs, you can actually climb inside these images using a VR headset to be instantly transported to another place and time. Token purchase includes the video in standard equirectangular format at 8K resolution for viewing via VR headset, along with the native circular projection of the (sphere) Pro 1 lens (as seen in the preview image) at the native 4048x4048 resolution.
We invented, engineered and built the patented (sphere) Pro1 ourselves. Our unique camera lens allows the creation of spherical video content with no stitching using a conventional camera, vastly streamlining the content creation process and enabling shots that were previously impossible. We have traveled the world filming with it using a variety of cameras in an effort to learn how to make the entire VR experience capture process easier. We have worked tirelessly to create a high quality, cinema-level device that we can be proud of. Currently, we are the only ones in the world filming with the (sphere) Pro1 and our main goal is to use the proceeds from this offering to build more so that others can create and share their own unique, immersive experiences using the cameras and workflows they are familiar with. In fact, in addition to these experience-based NFTs, we are also offering a token that acts as a voucher that can be exchanged for a (sphere) Pro1 as more become available.
We are industrial and interaction designers, artists at the core, who have created this unique tool for other artists, photographers, filmmakers, journalists, and musicians. We strongly believe that NFTs (or an evolution of them) have enormous potential, especially for the creative class, whose original work has long been undervalued, often appropriated and difficult to authenticate in a digital world.
About (sphere): Syracuse, New York based industrial & interaction designers Rob Englert and Meyer Giordano partnered with Jay-Z and Roc Nation to form (sphere) optics in 2015. Long time AR/VR enthusiasts, they continue to explore the intersection between objects and digital experiences for some of the biggest brands in the world at their design consultancy ram.
